Organizational Structure Twenty-five employees are members of the St. Bernard Fire Department, all career members. The fire department consists of 1- Chief Officer, 3 - Captains, 3 Lieutenants and 21 firefighters. The suppression personnel work on three shifts with a maximum manning level of 8 members and a minimum manning level averaging 6 members per day. All members operate out of one station, which serves an area of 1.5 square miles, consisting of residential, commercial, light and heavy industry.
